Celebration for Song in Tammuz: with Special Guests Lynn Melnick, Isabella DeSendi, & Megan Pinto

P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome Avia Tadmor to celebrate and discuss the release of her book Song in Tammuz – winner of the International Berkshire Prize, this collection draws from an incredible range of literary forms, from familiar couplets and tercets to footnotes, dictionary definitions, and luminous lyric fragments.
Avia will be on stage with special guest readers Lynn Melnick, Isabella DeSendi, and Megan Pinto, and will sign books after the talk!
Doors open at 2:00pm with the reading starting closer to 2:30pm. Come early and grab a drink from the P&T Cafe!

Cost of a book bundle ticket reflects the total cost of the feature event book (MSRP plus tax). Each book bundle ticket guarantees ticket holders one (1) copy of the feature event book.
The talk will be followed by a book signing. Books signed at P&T Knitwear events must be purchased from P&T Knitwear.

Avia Tadmor is the author of the debut poetry collection, Song in Tammuz (Tupelo Press, October 2026), winner of the International Berkshire Prize and featured in "The 2026 Debut Poetry Collections You Need To Read" by Debutiful. Avia’s poems appear in The Academy of American Poets' Poem-a-Day, Best New Poets, New England Review, The New Republic, and elsewhere. Her writing received fellowships and awards from Yaddo, Bread Loaf Writers' Workshop, the Rona Jaffe Foundation, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Avia was named a Gregory Djanikian Scholar in Poetry by the Adroit Journal and a Get the Word Out Publicity Incubator Fellow from Poets & Writers. Previously, she taught writing at Columbia University, where she directed the Columbia Artist/Teachers program, promoting no-cost arts education in schools and community organizations in NYC. Currently, Avia is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Expository Writing Program at New York University. A graduate of the United World College program educating for constructive dialogue, peace, and a sustainable future, she holds an MFA in poetry and translation from Columbia University. Born in Jerusalem, Avia lives in New York.
Isabella DeSendi is a Latina poet and educator whose work has been published in The New Yorker, POETRY, The Adroit Journal, Poetry Northwest, and others. Her debut poetry collection titled Someone Else's Hunger was published by Four Way Books and received the gold medal from the 2025 North American Book Awards, among other awards. Her chapbook Through the New Body won the Poetry Society of America's Chapbook Fellowship and was published in 2020. Recently, she has been named a finalist for the Norma Farber First Book Award, the Juan Felipe Herrera Poetry Prize, and was also a 2025 New Jersey Poetry Fellow, finalist for the Ruth Lilly Fellowship, and included in the 2024 Best New Poets anthology. Isabella has attended Bread Loaf Writers' Workshop, the Storyknife Writers’ Residency in Alaska, and holds an MFA from Columbia University. She currently lives in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Lynn Melnick’s most recent book of poetry, I Deserve This, Thank You, received The Stern Prize from American Poetry Review and will be published by Copper Canyon Press in spring of 2027. She is the author of three previous poetry collections and is also the author of the memoir, I've Had to Think Up a Way to Survive: On Trauma, Persistence, and Dolly Parton. Megan Pinto is the author of Saints of Little Faith, from Four Way Books (US) and the87press (UK). Her poems can be found or are forthcoming in The Los Angeles Review of Books, The Academy of American Poets Poem-a-Day, Ploughshares, and on The Slowdown podcast. She has received the Anne Halley Prize from the Massachusetts Review and an Amy Award from Poets & Writers, as well as scholarships and fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, the Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing, the Port Townsend Writers’ Conference and Storyknife. She lives in Brooklyn.
